About Us

3.5 years ago we hardly had money to pay our bills.
We had $10,000 debt on just one credit card.
I was a new SAHMom and Bubba had a new business & wasn't bringing home much of a paycheck. We looked at each other and decided we wanted a better life for ourselves; for our children. We decided we wanted to stop getting by, and start getting ahead.

We set firm goals and worked our tails off.

We sacrificed tons of good things, having faith that it would lead to great things.
And it has.

By working so hard we were able to get out of our situation in just one year.
We worked even harder for 18 months and now wake up every morning in our dream home.
And no, we aren't rich. By a long shot.

That, my friends, is what frugality is all about. Being frugal is not about giving up everything you love, but rather learning to get everything you love - the smart way. We have more, do more, and live more now than ever before...because of how frugal we are, not in spite of it.

This, folks, is the new frugal.

It's not what you thought it was.
It's not as hard as you think it is.
Don't get me wrong, yes, it takes hard work...but doesn't everything in life that is good, lovely, and of value?
But ultimately, it results in a life richer than you could have ever thought imaginable.
Richer in every sense of the word.

Where to begin? Where to start? Is it even worth it? How can I possibly get ahead? How can we recover from everything that's happened to us? How will I possibly understand all of this? My head is swimming. How can we possibly figure this out on our own?
You don't have to.

My heart literally breaks with every email I read that includes a plea for help. I can feel the frustration, confusion, and hopelessness seep from every black and white letter. I'm here to help. I want to help. But I can't possibly help every person one-on-one, so I'm doing my best.

So join me at Frugality Boot Camp 2014.
It's not only fun, not only enlightening; inspiring even, but it's hope. It's hope for a brighter future, a better life, and more fun than you ever could've imagined for yourself.

Don't come for me, I don't actually make any money off your tickets. That's not why I do this.
Come for you; for your family.
Just come.
Let's figure this out together.

Jordan is founder and creator of funcheaporfree.com, a website dedicated to creating, maintaining, and living a frugal lifestyle. Her "no holds barred" attitude, as well as years of experience in budgeting, frugal living, event planning, sales, ]debt consolidation, homeownership, and motherhood (the best teacher of all) have made her a frugality expert. Thus, over the years she has been dubbed the "Fun Cheap or Free Queen".

Her humorous writing style and easy-to-implement philosophies have helped her reshape thousands of families' spending habits; helping her followers get out of debt, spend more wisely, and live more fully than they ever thought possible.

Jordan grew up in a small orchard town in Oregon, called The Dalles. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in Recreation Management, with a Therapeutic Recreation emphasis. She worked in sales and with at-risk teens before having kids and becoming a stay-at-home mom.

She is the mother of three children who are all 18 months apart (3.5yo boy, 2 yo girl, and a baby boy). She and her husband, Brandt "Bubba" Page (Founder and CEO of Launch Leads) live in Draper, Utah with their 100lb yellow lab, Ollie. Jordan is "social to a fault" and will drop anything to participate in a social event. She loves to entertain, dance, sing, hike with her dog, eat out, throw parties, go on vacation, surround herself with good friends, shop, "and any other possible girly thing out there". And yes, she's learned to do it all on a budget!
